Installers are required under The Electrical Safety Councils 18th Edition Wiring Regulations to check torque settings for connection tightness at consumer units where instructed to do so by the manufacturer. This is because connections that are too loose can cause arcing, whereas over tightening can cause the screw to cut through the wire and damage the connection.

The Wera VDE Kraftform Kompakt Adjustable Torque Handle included in this set allows the required torque to be quickly set between the range of 1.2 – 3.0 Nm using the integrated scale. There is a distinctly audible and noticeable excess load signal when the pre-set value has been exceeded. Unlimited torque is also available for manual loosening jobs. The handle accepts Wera VDE interchangeable blades only, such as those included in the set.

Many of the VDE interchangeable blades in this set feature Wera’s Slim Line blade design, which provides an innovative solution to a commonly occurring problem for electricians. With many VDE screwdrivers, the insulation often obstructs and prevents access to low-lying fastening elements. The slim line system combats this by reducing the diameter of the blade with integrated protective insulation allowing access to sunken screws and spring elements.

This set includes wera’s insulated adjustable torque handle and a selection of insulated interchangeable blades. All have been approved for work being carried out around voltages of up to 1000V AC or 1500V DC, and meet the international standards IEC 60900:2004 or DIN EN60900. The insulated ergonomic Kraftform handle fits comfortably in the hand with special hard and soft zones to provide better turning power with less effort and making repeated turning easier. A belt mountable protective pouch ensures that the set contents are kept clean and dry.
